The Grand Theatre Shooting in Lafayette: No Weapons Allowed
Another shooting took place in an establishment where firearms are not allowed. At about 8:30 p.m. Thursday night at The Grand Theatre in Lafayette, Louisiana, a man opened fire with a handgun, murdering two people and injuring nine others. The victims ranged from their late-teens through their 60s.
Upon attempting to leave and finding police had already arrived, the gunman killed himself with the gun.
According to The Grand Theatre's Conduct Policy published on its website, firearms and weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited from being carried into the theater, whether open or concealed, with or without a permit.
