A local organization will host a summer camp next month.

The Bridge of Lubbock will host the Bridge 2 Success Summer Camp on Monday, July 1st through Friday, July 26th.

The free day camp is offered for at risk youth, and will include a variety of field trips. The camp is aimed to help attendees to understand the value of education by being taught different life skills.

Other activities will include football, volleyball, cheerleading, soccer, and arts and crafts.

Bridge of Lubbock Director of Outreach Ashlei Watson said “We long for our campers to know that no matter how dead they have felt, no matter how dry their spiritual life has been, and no matter how hopeless they may have felt about their future, God is not done with them.”

Camp enrollment will take place on June 17th and 24th from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Bridge of Lubbock, located at 1301 E. Redbud. Only 70 campers will be accepted and a parent or guardian must be present at registration.

The camp is free to campers, but costs the Bridge of Lubbock around $23,000, funded by donors in the Lubbock community.

The Bridge of Lubbock also has the Bridge 2 Success program, which is a free after school program for students in grades six through 12.
