One of the candidates in the State Senate District 28 special election has received a new endorsement.

Today, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association, TEXPAC,  which speaks on behalf of more than 45,000 Texas physicians and medial students, announced their endorsement of Jodey Arrington’s campaign for State Senate District 28.

TEXPAC Board Chair, Jerry Hunsaker, expressed his strong support of Arrington, stating, “He’s an accomplished individual who knows how to get results. We need more people like Jodey in Austin who will work hard on behalf of his constituents to ensure they have access to health care.”

TEXPAC has also cited Arrington's commitment to cutting the waste and inefficiencies that drive up health care costs, and protecting the patient-physician relationship against federal government intrusion.

Regarding the endorsement, Arrington said, "I appreciate the support of local physicians who know my commitment to improving health care, strengthening our tort reform laws, and protecting the patient-physician relationship against federal intrusion,"
