Texas Tribune Unveils Public Education Data Resource
The Texas Tribune has come out with an all new resource for parents and the public to view and compare school districts around Texas. According to the Tribune:
The Texas Tribune Schools Explorer is our most comprehensive public education tool to date and the only one of its kind in the state. This database combines key academic, enrollment and financial records on all of Texas’ 1,300 districts and 8,500 public schools, including hundreds of charter schools and alternative campuses. It makes school statistics easy to navigate.
The database was created with support of the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.
So far, I found the database easy to go through and put together very well. I think parents and the public will get great use out of the information that has been provided. The Public Schools Explorer is located here. To view the stats of LISD, you can click here.
What do you think about the information provided? Is it helpful?
