Raider Red has moved on to the final four of a national contest.

Texas Tech’s mascot took second place out of 16 mascots in regular season voting to contend for the most votes in the Capital One 2012 Mascot Challenge.

Red is competing against the University of Miami’s Sebastian the Ibis. The other matchup features Colorado State University’s Cam the Ram facing off against the University of South Carolina’s Cocky the Gamecock, who took first place in regular season voting.

Red’s only regular-season loss came in week one against the University of Delaware’s YoUDee, who was eliminated in the most recent round.

Those choosing to participate in voting can cast their online votes as many times as they would like throughout the week.

Fans can vote at www.capitalonebowl.com/vote. To vote on Twitter, use the hashtag #CapitalOneRaiderRed.

All participants will receive $5,000 for their university mascot program, and the winner will win a $20,000 scholarship to fund the school’s mascot program.
