Nutrition and Weight Management Day at Texas Tech University is Monday, May 8, 2017.

The Department of Nutritional Sciences and the College of Human Sciences at Texas Tech are hosting several presentations throughout the day on nutrition and healthy weight management.

The event will take place from 3:00pm to 8:30pm inside the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center on the Tech campus.

The first presentation, titled “Nutritional Science: It’s about more than what to eat,” will be given at 3:20pm, followed by a talk at 4:00pm titled “Food does not cause obesity.”

Into the evening hours, Texas Tech will also feature a presentation by the school’s Nutrition and Metabolic Health Institute.

Attendees will also be able to tour exhibits, participate in health screenings, and converse with experts.

At 7:00pm, the event will conclude with an original performance by students from Tech’s School of Theatre and Dance that addresses everyday struggles of weight management.

Registration to attend the event is $20, which includes access to exhibits, dinner, and eligibility for prize drawings.
