Texas Tech volleyball will host a highly-ranked opponent this weekend.

The Red Raider volleyball team will face off against No. 9 ranked Texas at the United Spirit Arena on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Tech volleyball currently has a 22-match losing streak against the Longhorns, having been defeated by them in each game since 2000.

Tech has only recorded three wins against Texas since 1980.

A lot is riding on Saturday’s match, as the Red Raiders are looking for their first win over a ranked opponent since 2004.

The team will then travel to face Central Arkansas in non-conference play on Tuesday, and then return to host New Mexico on November 9th in the final non-conference match.

On Saturday, October 6th, the Red Raiders will host 19th ranked Iowa State at home for an 11 a.m. first serve.
