A Texas Tech volleyball player has earned preseason accolades.

Red Raider senior Miara Cave has been named to the Big 12 preseason volleyball team, in a vote by the conference coaches.

Cave is one of 15 conference players honored, and this marks the third-straight season a Tech volleyball player has been represented on the preseason team. Amanda Dowdy received the honor for the past two years.

Cave, Tech’s top offensive returner from a year ago, totaled 298 kills last year to go along with a .231 hitting percentage, and she put down a team-leading 99 blocks last season as well.

The Red Raider volleyball season will begin August 24th against Fordham in the Boston College invitational.
