The Texas Tech Athletic Department is pushing safety first before traveling to tonight's game at United Supermarkets Arena.
Via their website, the Texas Tech Director of Athletics says:

"We want to emphasize the safety and the well-being of our fans as our first and foremost concern. Although this is an important non-conference game for our team, we ask our fans to use extreme caution and stay at home if you are unable to make it safely to United Supermarkets Arena."

Texas Tech is offering free admission to tonight's game. Parking in the north, south and west arena lots will be open and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Free does not mean you should attend if you have to travel long distances. Free also does not mean it's worth putting your life, and the lives of emergency personnel, at risk in the event you get into an accident or get stuck.

The statement also says that Individuals who purchased tickets for the Texas Tech versus Richmond game can redeem those tickets for a 2016 men's basketball conference opponent, dependent upon availability.

Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised by FOX Sports Southwest Plus, in addition to the FOX Sports Go app.
