Texas Tech Track & Field Members to Compete at USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Texas Tech has sent four athletes to compete at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Senior Katie Grimes and sophomore Cierra White will represent the Lady Raiders, while freshman Nick Rivera and sophomore Kole Weldon will represent the Red Raiders.

The meet, being held in Des Moines, Iowa, serves as the formal selection process for spots on Team USA, which will travel to Moscow, Russia in August for competition at the IAAF World Championships.

“What a great honor for Texas Tech track and field to be sending four of our very best athletes to the USA Track and Field Championships this week,” said Tech head coach Wes Kittley. “I’m proud of all of them; it will be a great honor for them to represent us in Des Moines.”

The event begins Thursday, June 20^th and will run through the weekend.
