Texas Tech University officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new residence hall.

The ceremony will take place Thursday at 3 pm. at Boston and 18th street. The new state of the art residence hall will house 500 students and allow students to have limitless laundry and suite style living along with wireless internet throughout the building.

The new facility is approximately 178,000 square feet and will be ready for Student Move-in Day on Sunday August 19th.

Parking for the ribbon cutting will be available in the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center and Z2 park lots east of the new building. Refreshments will be provided immediately following the reception.

The building cost $38 million and took 16 months to complete.
