A new recruitment admissions center for Texas Tech will open in Austin this week.

Tech will celebrate the opening with a come-and-go reception from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, August 16th at the recruitment center in the Arboretum.

Texas Tech System Chancellor Kent Hance will speak at the event and participate in the 3 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The opening recognizes the growth Texas Tech has had in recent years.

“The new facility provides us an opportunity to reach future students and parents, as well as high school counselors and community college advisory, as we now have a staff completely dedicated to serving the Central Texas area,” said Jamie Hansard, director of recruitment and marketing at Texas Tech.

Tech has two more recruitment centers in Dallas and Houston, but their center in Austin is their first in a retail area.

The event will be held at the Arboretum, located at 10000 Research Blvd, Suite 250 in Austin.
