Groundbreaking for a new Texas Tech research building will be held this week.

The ceremony breaking ground for the Texas Tech Petroleum Engineering Research building will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 5th, in the northeast corner of the engineering key.

The $20 million project will house 40,000 square feet of formal teaching environments with hands-on applications and research facilities.

The event is open to the public, and will be followed by a reception at the groundbreaking site.

Chancellor Kent Hance, Engineering Dean Al Sacco, and others will make remarks at the event.
