Texas Tech Softball Trio Named to All-Region Teams

Three Texas Tech softball student-athletes have been named to All-Region teams.

Sophomore Gretchen Aucoin leads the Red Raiders, as she was named as a first team selection as a pitcher/utility player for the central region.

She is joined by freshmen Red Raiders Sydni Emanuel, a second-team honoree, and Cassie McClure, a third-team pick.

The All-Region teams were announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Thursday.

Tech’s three selections to the All-Region teams are its most since a school record four Red Raiders were honored in 2011.

The All-Region teams were voted on by NFCA coaches from each region. The honorees on any of the three squads are now eligible for selection to one of the three NFCA Division I All-American Teams.
