The Texas Tech School of Law will continue to partner with an area high school.

Nearly 50 students from Estacado High School will visit the Texas Tech Law School to celebrate the extension of the law school’s partnership with Estacado’s Law and Justice Magnet Program through 2015.

Tech Law originally partnered with the program in 2006 to offer additional educational resources for high school students interested in pursuing legal careers.

Law faculty and students offer classroom teaching assistance, mock trial coaching, and mentorship to help prepare students for law school.

The students will visit Tech Law at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1st.

Speakers at the event will include Rob Sherwin, Tech Law associate professor of advocacy and skills develop and director of advocacy programs; Walt Huffman, professor and dean emeritus; and E.J. Garcia, Brownfield assistant district attorney.
