Texas Tech has been ranked in the top 20 for most transfer students among all schools on a particular list.

Texas Tech has been ranked 16th for most transfer students among all schools that were featured on the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges list.

The 2012 rankings were made from data taken in 2010.

The average number of transfer students for all universities was 467, but Texas Tech enrolled 2,447 transfer students in 2010.

Texas Tech is the only university in Texas with a published US News ranking to be included in the top 20 for most transfer students.

“The fact that Texas Tech is not in a major metropolitan area is a challenge we work hard to overcome, said Ethan Logan, director of undergraduate admission for Tech.

“The challenges that transfer students have are primarily related to academic transferability and the cost of education, so those are the two areas where we try to alleviate concern or anxiety with our transfer students,” Logan continued.

Texas Tech also offers programs and services to transfer students such as Transfer Connection, Transfer Council, and Transfer Techsans. Tech says that programs geared specifically toward these students help the university retain transfer students at high levels.
