Texas Tech Promoted on Times Square Billboard in Advance of the Super Bowl

Wednesday afternoon, a billboard saluting three former Texas Tech football players went up in New York City's Times Square.

The billboard features Wes Welker, Louis Vasquez and Manny Ramirez. All three are playing for the Denver Broncos in Sunday's Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks.

Texas Tech University officials tell KFYO News the billboard was not paid for through university funds.  The cost of the billboard is "well below $75,000" and will be up in Times Square though Monday.
