Texas Tech Pitcher von Schamann Named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week

A Texas Tech baseball pitcher has received conference honors.

Red Raider redshirt sophomore Duke von Schamann has been named the Big 12 Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

The designation comes after von Schamann threw first pitch strikes to 26 of 30 batters against the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday, where he also marked his third complete game of the season.

He is currently second in the Big 12 with a 1.72 ERA with a 4-3 record in 7 starts with 52.1 innings pitched with three complete games.

The Edmond, Oklahoma native pitcher is the 11th Texas Tech right-handed pitcher to earn the award.

von Schamann is the 14th Red Raider to earn the award.
