A Texas Tech Tennis Men’s Doubles team that made a run for the championship fell short.

The team of Raony Carvalho and Gonzalo Escobar took on the team of Chase Buchanan and Blaz Rola of Ohio State for the NCAA Men’s Doubles Championship.

The match was suspended during the first set due to rain. The match was moved by NCAA officials to the University of Georgia’s indoor tennis facility.

Ohio State’s team edged Carvalho and Escobar 7 to 6 in the first set, and solidly defeated the Red Raider duo 6 to 3 in the second set.

In singles, Escobar lost to Henrique Cunha of Duke University in the sweet sixteen.
