According to Jonathan Giles' Twitter account, he has decided to transfer from Texas Tech University effective immediately.

Giles opened the year on fire, namely his dominant performance against Louisiana Tech, but his performance lacked down the stretch. He was ultimately benched against the Iowa State Cyclones and was second on the depth chart this spring behind Cam Batson.

Despite his weak second half of the season, Giles was the Red Raiders' leading receiver, notching 1,158 receiving yards, the 4th best in the Big 12. He also finished in the top 3 of the conference with 13 touchdowns.

The true junior has two years of eligibility left.

The fact is, while it's not ideal to lose good players, the receiver position is absolutely stacked for the Red Raiders. Cam Batson and transfer De'Quan Bowman will slot into the postion Giles has vacated.

Other returning receivers include Derrick Willies, Dylan Cantrell, Keke Coutee and Tony Brown.

As for what's next, former Red Raider Breiden Fehoko seems to hint that Giles will try to join the LSU Tigers.
