Two Texas Tech University School of Law students will advance to nationals after winning at a regional counseling competition. Third-year students James Garrett and Meghan Graham won at the American Bar Association Law Student Division Client Counseling Competition. Coached by Professor Charles P. Bubany, the team competed February 11th in the consultation based competition, in which teams demonstrate their client counseling skills.

“The reason I like this competition is that it involves what every lawyer does – interviewing and counseling clients,” Bubany said. “And I’ve found out in coaching that there is a lot more to it than people think.” The pair will face up against 11 other teams on March 16th and 17th for the National title in North Carolina.
