Some frontage road closures are scheduled for the Marsha Sharp Freeway through the end of August, according to TxDOT.

The eastbound 4th Street connector ramp to the eastbound frontage road of the MSF will be closed to traffic, and the eastbound MSF frontage road will be reduced to one lane of traffic. This closure will begin on Monday, August 19th.

The temporary closure and detour will allow for work at Jones AT&T Stadium on the Texas Tech campus to be performed.

Crews will be installing pre-cast concrete columns and arch panels on the exterior façade of the north end zone of Jones AT&T stadium. The eastbound MSF frontage road traffic in the area will be reduced to a single lane of traffic to give work crews more room to perform the work safely.

Motorists using the 4th Street ramp to access University Avenue will be detoured onto the eastbound MSF main lanes where they will be able to take the Avenue Q exit and use the turn-around to connect with University Avenue.

Fourth Street motorists are encouraged to use TTU Parkway to connect with the MSF and then go east to connect with University Avenue without an additional detour.

The ramp and frontage road closures will run through Saturday, August 24th.

Also, during the week of August 26th through the 31st, the 4th Street ramp will close during overnight hours of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. with traffic detoured around the area. The 4th Street ramp will remain open during daytime hours for the week.
