This Saturday elementary and middle school students will meet at a kickoff event for GEAR, a robotics challenge at Texas Tech. Over 300 students from around the state will compete in GEAR, a six week LEGO robotics challenge that teaches students engineering skills and teamwork.

The teams will work together and use their designing, programming, construction, and troubleshooting skills to construct robots to solve challenges. Students will work for the next two months on constructing their robots, and will return to Tech April 21st to compete. For more information, visit the GEAR website.
