A group of teachers that have received more specific training have graduated from Texas Tech.

Twenty middle school teachers of the first Middle School Math Science scholarship degree program, also known as MS2, graduated last Saturday.

The teachers began their Master of Science degree in Multidisciplinary Science with an emphasis on integration of math and science in middle schools in 2009.

The group takes one online course each regular semester and two courses on campus each first summer session, while teaching in middle schools full-time.

Funding for the MS2 program has been provided by a grant by the Greater Texas Foundation, which gave Texas Tech $3 million in 2008 to fund the program.
