Texas Tech Free Market Institute Hosts Nobel Laureate Vernon Smith In Lecture Series Tonight [AUDIO]

ttu.edu

On the Tuesday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, 2002 Nobel Laureate Dr. Vernon Smith & Dr. Ben Powell from the Texas Tech Free Market Institute spoke with Chad Hasty about an upcoming lecture.

Dr. Smith will appear tonight as part of the Free Market Institute’s public lecture series, speaking about the housing bubbles and slow “recovery” of the housing market. Smith explained that because so many people received exorbitant loans and paid for houses with credit, or “funny money,” it’s no surprise that the market is in such bad shape. He added  that the housing market hasn’t been this bad since the Great Depression, and that he is still not optimistic about the market making a grand recover anytime in the near future.

The lecture will take place Tuesday, February 18th, from 5 PM to 6:15 PM at the Rawls College of Business. The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information on the Free Market Institute at Texas Tech, visit their website at ttu.edu/freemarketinstitute or visit them on Facebook.
