Texas Tech’s top returning receiver has been named to the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award.

Eric Ward, a senior from Wichita Falls, earns the spot on the preseason list for the award which honors the nation’s top wide receiver. This is Ward’s second consecutive year on the preseason list.

A Texas Tech wide receiver has been on the Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list for six straight years.

The 10 Biletnikoff Award semifinalists will be announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. on November 18th, 2013.

Three finalists will be declared following another vote of the selection committee on November 25th, and the 2013 Biletnikoff Award will be presented live on December 12th on the Home Depot College Football Awards Show.

Ward is one of 76 wide receivers across the country to be honored by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation and one of nine from the Big 12 Conference.

Ward compiled 1,053 receiving yards on 82 catches along with 12 touchdowns in 2012. He averaged 12.8 yards per catch and 87.8 yards per game.

The award is named for Fred Biletnikoff, who was an All-Pro receiver with the Oakland Raiders and an All-America receiver at Florida State University.
