Texas Tech Football to Play 2013 Season Opener on ESPN

The date for Texas Tech Football’s 2013 season opener has been changed.  The Red Raiders will now play at SMU on Friday, August 30. Kickoff will be at 7p and the game nationally televised on ESPN. The game was previously scheduled for Saturday, August 31.

The Texas Tech- SMU game will be Kliff Kingsbury’s first game as Texas Tech head coach.

Texas Tech already has an additional ESPN nationally televised game on the 2013 schedule. Texas Tech will play at Texas on Thanksgiving night, November 28.

There may be additional changes to Texas Tech’s 2013 schedule as ESPN & FOX schedule their slate of Thursday night games for ESPN and the brand-new FOX Sports 1 networks.
