Another Texas Tech football player has been added to the watch list for a prestigious award.

Junior tight end Jace Amaro is one of nine student-athletes across the country to be named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list.

The Biletnikoff Award is presented each year to the nation’s top receiver.

Amaro joins teammate Eric Ward on the watch list. This marks the first time since the 2011 season that Texas Tech has placed two receivers on the list.

Amaro leads the team and the Big 12 Conference with 20 receptions in three games. His 281 receiving yards tops the Red Raiders, and is third overall in the Big 12.

The award recipient is selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, which is a group of more than 215 college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers.

The 2013 Biletnikoff Award winner will be announced on December 12th, 2013.
