A Texas Tech football player has been dismissed from the team.

Texas Tech Associate Athletics Director for Media Relations Blayne Beal released a statement Wednesday afternoon stating that “Sophomore running back Ronnie Daniels has been dismissed from the Texas Tech Football team due to a violation of team rules. He will not be reinstated.”

Daniels was suspended for most of the 2011 season. He played in the 59-13 win at New Mexico, and was put on suspension shortly afterward. Daniels played in the Spring Game last weekend.

Texas Tech Athletics has said that Head Coach Tommy Tuberville will not comment on the situation.
