A Texas Tech football player has been named to an All-America team.

Offensive lineman Le’Raven Clark has become the 11th Red Raider football player to be named to the Football Writers Association Freshman All-America Team.

Clark was Tech’s top offensive lineman during the 2012 season, according to former offensive line coach Chris Thomsen.

Tech’s line, anchored by Clark, a redshirt freshman from Rockdale, allowed just 19 sacks over 13 games, finishing as the fifth best in the Big 12 Conference.

Texas Tech player Jarvis Philips took home similar honors in 2011.

The players are selected by an 11-person panel of prominent football writers.
