Texas Tech Red Raider Football will celebrate the university’s roots of Hispanic culture this Saturday in conjunction with National Hispanic Heritage Month.

The 24th ranked Red Raiders host the 14th ranked Oklahoma Sooners with kickoff at 2:30pm and televised regionally on ABC and ESPN 2.

Numerous Hispanic themed organizations, student groups and West Texas Hispanic Pioneers will serve as game ambassadors.

Mariachi bands and dance groups will greet fans before the game at various tailgate lots along with a special greeting upon arrival for the Red Raider Football team at 11:45am for the Raider Walk down Drive of Champions.

Once inside the stadium, fans will enjoy classic Spanish music before the game and during halftime the Goin’ Band from Raiderland will have a special performance as well.

Texas Tech has also reached out to the Jones AT&T Stadium bordering residential areas of Arnett-Benson and Guadalupe with a special ticket promotion for the game.

Texas Tech defeated No. 1 ranked Oklahoma last season in Norman 41-38.
