Some Texas Tech students will be involved in a sudden performance to help promote alcohol awareness next week.

As part of Alcohol Awareness Week, students will dance to Michael Jackson’s song “Thriller” Tuesday, October 18th at noon in the Free Speech Area, located between the Student Union Building and the University Library.

Impact Tech, a group of peer health educators on campus will provide information on alcohol awareness, along with a first-aid kit with the 742-RIDE and 742-NITE contact information. Impact Tech will also provide the same information from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday as well.

Delia Tibbs, health educator for Student Health Services discussed the event, saying “We want to show that drinking is not the only way to have fun, and at Texas Tech, we have plenty of alternatives.”
