Dr. Joey Young (The Turf Doctor) from Texas Tech Plant and Soil Sciences joined Lubbock's First News to talk Field Day on July 13.

There will be a morning session and an afternoon session.

The morning session will take place at the Quaker Research Farm located north of 4th Street on Quaker Ave with registration beginning at 7 a.m. There will be two different tracks that will be taking place simultaneously.

"One is for professionals like golf course superintendents, athletic field managers, professional contractors, those kinds of people," said Young. "Then there will be a separate section going on at the same time for homeowners, residential people who want to learn a little bit more about taking care of their yard."

The afternoon session will take place at the Texas Tech campus beginning at Dan Law Field at 1:30 p.m.

"It's going to be a little bit more honed in for athletic field managers in town," said Young.
