The Texas Tech fan shoved by an Oklahoma State basketball player during Saturday's game has apologized for his role in the incident.

Jeff Orr was shoved by the Cowboys' Marcus Smart with 6.2 seconds left in the game after Smart tumbled into the stands while trying to block a Jaye Crockett lay-up.

Smart apologized for his actions Sunday evening while accepting a three-game suspension from the Big 12 Conference.

Meanwhile, Orr issued his own statement, apologizing to Smart and owning up to what he said to the player. "I would like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere apologies to Marcus Smart, Oklahoma State, Tubby Smith and the Texas Tech Men's Basketball program," Orr said. "My actions last night were inappropriate and do not reflect myself or Texas Tech - a university I love dearly. I regret calling Mr. Smart a "piece of crap" but I want to make it known that I did not use a racial slur of any kind. Additionally, I would like to offer my apologies to Texas Tech fans that have been embarrassed by the attention this incident has created."

Orr has agreed to not attend any more Texas Tech Red Raider Basketball games, home or away, for the rest of the season.

Texas Tech Athletics has released raw video footage of the incident in which Orr can be heard yelling at Smart.
