A Texas Tech sorority will bring back a swimming contest to raise funds for philanthropy.

The Gamma Xi chapter of Delta Gamma Sorority is bringing back its Anchor Splash event.

The event, which is open to the Texas Tech and Lubbock communities, will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. on November 2nd at the Texas Tech Aquatic Center. Admission is $5.

Funds raised from the event will go to benefit Service for Sight and the Delta Gamma Foundation.

Anchor Splash is a swimming contest where fraternity members are coached by Delta Gamma members, and compete in relay races and synchronized swimming routines.

“Anchor Splash is hosted by many Delta Gamma chapters across the country, and we are so thrilled to bring this event back to Texas Tech,” said Emily Scates, the chapter’s foundation vice president. “We have several teams getting ready for the big day, and it is the talk around campus.”
