A Texas Tech college will honor distinguished alumni at an event next week.

Texas Tech’s College of Human Sciences has announced the recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Awards, New Achiever Award, Lifetime Distinguished Service Award, and the Distinguished Leadership Award.

The honorees will be recognized at the 29th Annual Distinguished Alumni Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 13th at the Lubbock Country Club.

Recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Awards are:

  • Joan Crawford Chandler, north regional program director for Family and Consumer Sciences at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Lubbock.
  • John DuBard, interior designer with Parkhill, Smith, and Cooper.
  • Patti Flowers, owner and head designer of Patti Flowers Design Studio, a fashion design company in Dallas.
  • Carol Seaborn, food and nutrition professor at Stout University.

New Achiever Award:

  • Amanda Kay Baker, managing director of the Ranch at Dove Tree, a Lubbock-based treatment facility for chemical dependency.

Distinguished Leadership Award:

  • Helen Brittin, professor in the Texas Tech Department of Food and Nutrition.

Lifetime Distinguished Service Award:

  • Evelyn M. Davies, Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery Board Member, trustee of the Diamond M Foundation.
