A Texas Tech honor society has won yet another award.

The Tech chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, has been named an Honor Chapter for its outstanding group for 2011-2012.

The award was given to 14 chapters nationwide by the society’s national organization, out of 585 chapters. The accolade is given annually to between 10 and 15 chapters which they deem to be outstanding.

This is the eighth consecutive year that Tech’s chapter has won the award.

The national organization chooses chapters for their caliber of chapter projects that reflect the Sigma Delta Pi mission of honoring excellence in the study of the Spanish language, contributing to cultural understanding and upholding the goals of the society.
