Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance Honored on the Floor of the U.S. House

Outgoing Texas Tech University System Chancellor Kent Hance was honored for his service to Texas Tech, and the State of Texas, Wednesday night in the U.S. House.

In addition to his time as Texas Tech University System Chancellor, Hance also served in Congress in Texas 19th Congressional District, the Texas Railroad Commission and the Texas Senate.

The Special Order honoring Hance was led by Congressman Randy Neugebauer (R- Lubbock). Eight additional congressmen spoke about Hance on the House Floor, including Congressman Mike Conaway from Midland.

Chancellor Kent Hance is the third chancellor in Texas Tech University System history and he will become chancellor emeritus when his replacement is hired.
