Texas Tech Basketball Coach Billy Gillispie on Indefinite Sick Leave

Texas Tech’s head basketball coach is now on indefinite sick leave.
The announcement regarding Billy Gillispie comes during a school investigation of the possible mistreatment of players during practices.
Red Raider basketball player Jordan Tolbert, a sophomore, commented to ESPN.com that he doesn’t want to play for Gillispie any longer.
Some former players have stepped up in support of Gillispie, as Allen Corbin points out in his post for Sportsradio 1340 The Fan.
Texas Tech Athletics Director Kirby Hocutt is reportedly scheduled to meet with Gillispie in the near future to discuss the allegations.
As always, we’ll bring you more on this story as it develops.
