The Texas Tech Baseball team didn't throw a pitch this weekend. They didn't swing a bat, catch a pop fly or a grounder.

On Friday, they won a share of the Big 12 Title. On Saturday, they won an outright Big 12 Championship.

Oklahoma State was the only team within striking distance, and they lost two games to Oklahoma in their Bedlam series.

Two was the magic number. Viola.

Texas Tech now takes a four-game lead heading into their final weekend against West Virginia where they go for their seventh Big 12 series win of the season.

This regular season title guarantees you a one seed in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, which will be held May 25-29 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.

This is Tech’s third regular-season title in program history and fifth conference championship overall as the Red Raiders claimed the Southwest Conference regular-season and tournament crowns in 1995, as well as the 1997 Big 12 regular-season title and 1998 Big 12 Tournament trophy.

Wrapping up the title before this weekend allows Tech to give their stud pitchers some early relief and have them ready for the Big 12 Tournament that starts next Wednesday.

Texas Tech has won this season on the backs of their young pitching and veteran bats, moving forward into the Big 12 Tournament the veteran pitching must step up if you want to go deep into the Big 12 Tournament or any Regional or Super Regional action.
