Texas Tech baseball will compete in an NCAA Super Regional game for the first time in program history.

This comes after Tech managed to defeat the University of Miami on Monday afternoon, after losing to them earlier in the day.

Miami beat the Red Raiders 2-1 on Monday afternoon in a game that was rained out Sunday evening.

The second game on Monday began one hour after the first ended, and remained scoreless until the top of the seventh inning, when Tech scored two runs, and then scored two more in the top of the ninth. Miami did not manage to score any runs during their final game.

The Red Raiders are expected to host the College of Charleston at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. It is Tech's first time hosting a super regional. Tickets went on sale on Tuesday morning, and sold out in less than an hour, according to the school's athletic department.

Tech officials said baseball season ticket holders who were unable to secure their Super Regional seats would have until 5 p.m. on Tuesday to get them and that 350 complimentary seats held aside for students will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis on Wednesday, starting at 7:30 a.m.
