Texas Tech Baseball Players Receive Big 12 Honors

Some Texas Tech baseball players have earned conference honors.

Red Raider junior third baseman Jake Barrios has been named All-Big 12 second team.

Also, junior right-handed pitcher Trey Masek and freshman designated hitter Jarrard Poteete were named All-Big 12 honorable mention.

Poteete was the only Red Raider named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.

Barrios, a native of Weatherford, Oklahoma, is the first Red Raider third baseman to receive All-Big 12 honors since Josh Haney in 2004, and the first Tech newcomer in the hot corner to receive All-Big 12 recognition since Nick Blankenship in 2001, according to a press release from Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders will compete in the Big 12 Championships, first facing off on Tuesday, May 22^nd against Kansas State in Oklahoma City at 12:30 p.m.
