Texas Tech Baseball Infielder Ryan Long Named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week

A Texas Tech baseball player has received conference honors.

Tech freshman infielder Ryan Long has been named as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.

Long, a Crandall, Texas native, is the seventh Red Raider to receive the honor, while becoming just the second Tech freshman position player to receive the honor.

This comes after Long batted .500 with three consecutive multi-hit games, leading Tech to a three-game series sweep over Oral Roberts.

Long posted two hits in all three games, capping off the weekend with two RBI.

On the season, Long is second on the team batting .364 with a double and four RBI.
