Texas Tech Baseball Earns First National Ranking Since 2005
Texas Tech’s baseball team has earned their first national ranking since 2005.
Red Raider baseball has been ranked 24th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll for this week. Tech baseball was last ranked as 25th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll in late March of 2005.
So far this season, Texas Tech has a 7-1 overall record, beating 18th ranked St. John’s in the Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic held at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
Over the weekend, they defeated St. Johns on both Friday and Sunday, and Northern Illinois on Saturday and Sunday. Their sole loss so far has been to Missouri State on February 19th in the Red Raider Classic.
The Red Raiders will wrap up a 9-game homestand Monday evening, facing off against Northern Illinois in Lubbock.
