A firefighter convention is being held in the Hub City this week.

The City of Lubbock is the location for the 43rd Biennial Texas State Association of Firefighters convention, hosted by the Local 972 Lubbock Professional Firefighters Association, the Lubbock Fire Department, and the City of Lubbock.

The event is being held at the Overton Hotel and Convention Center, and will run from Monday, June 17th through Friday, June 21st.

Guests will include Texas State Senator Robert Duncan, Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson, and Lubbock Fire Chief Mike Kemp.

The convention is held every two years to decide the group’s goals and objectives, and to elect officers of the TSAFF for the next two years.

Attendees will also be able to enjoy attractions such as the Texas Tech Rawls Golf Course, a motorcycle tour and more.
