In a discussion today Texas U.S. Senator John Cornyn covered several issues facing Texas and the Nation. Among those subjects was that of the National Debt. Listen to the sound-byte to hear Cornyn's stance on raising the debt ceiling.

During the discussion, he also addressed whether or not he considers immigration reform equal to amnesty.

He also says immigration policies shouldn't be allowed to damage trade relations between Texas and Mexico.

When asked about his opinion on talk of a presidency run by Governor Rick Perry, Cornyn expressed a lack of surprise, saying that Texas' success in creating jobs and remaining fairly stable during the economic downturn would naturally beam a spotlight on the governor. However he, like many others, had no definitive answer to whether or not Perry would run.
