Every state has dangerous cities. Where does Lubbock rank among other Texas cities? 

Security company Home Security Shield consulted an FBI crime report and looked at population, annual crimes per 1,000 residents, number of violent and property crimes and total reported crimes for Texas cities to arrive at a list of the 20 most dangerous Texas cities.

According to the site, Lubbock ranks as the sixth most dangerous Texas city. Based on the statistics, Lubbock residents have a one in 16 chance of being the victim of a crime.

The most dangerous city in Texas is Weslaco, while Tyler rounds out the top 20 list. The state capital Austin ranked no. 12.
