Texas Mega Millions Jackpot Sets New Record

A Texas Lottery game has reached a record jackpot.

The Mega Millions jackpot has reached $500 million, with a cash value of $359.4 million.

That particular jackpot was last won on January 24^th, and has rolled 18 times without a winner.

“Swift sales for the Mega Millions game nationwide have pushed the jackpot into the stratosphere,” said Texas Lottery Commission Executive Director Gary Grief. “We are excited to share this unprecedented moment with our players and retailers.”

Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night, and the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot is approximately one in 176 million. The likelihood of winning any of the Mega Millions prizes is approximately one in 40.

The Texas Lottery has generated more than $19 billion in revenue for the state, and distributed $37 billion in prizes to lottery players since 1992.
