Texas House Member Requests $8 Billion Dollars from Mexico for Illegal Immigrants
A State Representative in the Texas House has sent a letter to the President of Mexico for his country to reimburse the State of Texas for Mexican citizens living in the state illegally. Rep. Lyle Larson (R- San Antonio) estimates in his letter to President Calderon that Mexico owes the state around $8 Billion for health care related costs, education and other services rendered by Texas.
Larson sent the letter in late March and stated that if Mexico couldn't directly pay Texas back then Mexico could allow U.S. companies to drill for oil through fracturing the ground. Larson believes the technological advancements in hydraulic fracturing would create several job opportunities in Mexico like in South Texas and its current oil boom.
