Texas Health Care Funding Battle Likely in Legislature
Changes to Texas’ health care now seem somewhat inevitable.
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission has asked the Texas Legislature for $6.7 billion more for the upcoming budget cycle.
Texas Health and Human Services administers the state’s Medicaid program.
Republican legislative leaders however, have said that they will only increase the state budget by $7 billion total, meaning that health care spending will likely need to be cut.
The Texas legislative session begins on January 8th.
